În aceste lecții se studiază principiul lui Arhimede. Elevii organizați în echipe vor investiga modul în care masa, greutatea, volumul și densitatea influenţează comportamentul unui obiect solid plasat în lichide. Ei vor efectua activități de laborator care investighează fizica fundamentală din spatele presiunii în fluide și principiul lui Arhimede.

Planul acestor lecții se bazează pe învățarea bazată pe investigaţie, mai precis pe scenariul “6 Pălării gânditoare”. Această metodă a fost dezvoltată de Edward de Bono (1985), a cărei principală tehnică este de a separa gândirea în șase funcții și roluri diferite. Fiecare stil de gândire este identificat cu o "pălărie de gândire" colorată simbolic. Prin purtarea și schimbarea pălăriilor (fizic sau imaginativ), grupurile sunt provocate să abordeze o situație din diferite perspective.

La sfârşitul lecţiilor elevii trebuie să capabili să:

  • formuleze ipoteze;-realizeze design-ul şi să dirijeze experimente ştiinţifice;
  • colecteze, prelucreze şi sa analizeze date;
  • obţină concluzii din rezultatele investigaţiei;
  • discute concluziile cu colegii de grupă şi cu întreaga clasă.

Competenţe metacognitive

La sfârşitul lecţiilor elevii trebuie să capabili să:

  • reflecteze asupra activităţilor desfăşurate şi asupra rezultatelor investigaţiilor realizate.

Conţinuturi conceptuale şi procedurale

La sfârşitul lecţiilor elevii trebuie să capabili să:

  • cunoască dependenţa matematică dintre masa, volum, densitate, greutate şi forţa lui Arhimede;
  • realizeze reprezentări grafice ale forţei lui Arhimede în funcţie de volum;
  • realizeze reprezentări grafice ale forţei lui Arhimede în funcţie de masă;
  • definească forţa lui Arhimede.
