Description
Polymers are large molecules called macromolecules. They are formed by linking repeated small molecules: monomers
The result is very long and very diverse forms chains.
Synthetic polymers are obtained in the laboratory or in industry. Examples of synthetic polymers are nylon, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene, etc.
Natural polymers are produced by organisms: polysaccharides (cellulose and starch), proteins (collagen, hemoglobin, hormones, albumin, etc.) and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA).
