This ILS is developed for first year HAVO/VWO students (aged 12-14) to teach natural selection. The learning goals of the ILS are:

1. explaining what natural selection is;

2. naming the four propositions (i.e., competition, variation, inheritance, and selection) underlying Darwin's theory of evolution;

3. experiment with some of the factors (i.e., food availability, predators) that influences the survival of a species;

4. exploring how adaptations help organisms survive over time.
