A short 6 x 40 min lesson to relate the effect of hydrochloric acid on marble to the effect of acid rain on limestone  and organic materials such as plants. This lesson requires no prior understanding but does require facilitation by the teacher to ensure good scientific practice and differentiation in collaborative learning.

The lesson allows students to review and interact with video and apps to research and explore the effect of acids. Students must undertake an assessment of learning mid way through the lesson and must submit for teacher review their intended procedure before undertaking the practical element of the lesson.

Students may use a variety of reporting tools including video, pictures and text to report their findings for discussion by the class.
