Description

In this lab, you can race two cars (one with constant velocity and the other with constant acceleration) against each other. The red car moves with constant velocity (no acceleration), while the blue car accelerates from rest with a constant acceleration. The output is shown as a motion diagram for the two cars and a plot of position-vs-time or velocity-time for each car.

You can use the sliders to adjust the starting position of the red car, the constant velocity of the red car, the constant acceleration of the blue car. Also, use the bottom buttons to switch between graphing the car positions or velocities.

What can you say about the spaces between the dots in the motion diagram?

What can you say about the slope of the position-time graph and the velocity-time graph?
