Online labs provide students with the possibility to conduct scientific experiments in an online environment. Remotely-operated labs (remote labs) offer an opportunity to experiment with real equipment from remote locations. Virtual labs simulate the scientific equipment. Data sets present data from already performed lab experiments. Please use the filters on the right to find appropriate online labs for your class.

Please note that the Go-Lab Authoring Platform Graasp is no longer maintained. This means that it is not possible to create and publish new Go-Lab Inquiry Learning Spaces using the labs listed on this page. However, you can still access the labs and use them directly on the providers' websites with help of the preview links, which you will find on the dedicated lab pages. If you are interested in creating and using Inquiry Learning Spaces in your classroom, please visit the new Authoring Platform Graasp.org

If you are looking for online labs selected for the curricula of Benin, Kenya or Nigeria, please visit our Collections page.

Learn how friction causes a material to heat up and melt. Rub two objects together and they heat up. When one reaches the melting temperature, particles break free as the material melts away. Primary aims of the labDescribe a model for friction a molecular level.

This lab simulates the boiling of ice/water and ethanol, in different desired quantities. Two different simulations can be done at the same time to compare the results.

This simulation shows an ideal gas simulation, which is not always ideal. There are a number of gas atoms in a box. You can use the sliders to alter the number and size of atoms and also the temperature.

With this remote experiment students will understand the principle of objects floating and sinking in liquids, study the Archimedes Principle – displacement of liquids by floated objects, weight in liquids, buoyancy force.

This applet describes a single atom gas moving in one dimension. It accelerates or decelerates only through classical collisions with the moving piston on its container. This helps to explain why the gas gets warm when it is compressed and cool when expanded.

This environment has been created to allow students to look at how the size of pipes affects the speed and pressure of the fluid moving through the pipe.

This lab is designed to have students examine the different relationships that exist for gases in a box.

This HTML5 app shows a simple experiment concerning the buoyancy in a liquid: A solid body hanging from a spring balance is dipped into a liquid. In this case the measured force, which is equal to the difference of weight and buoyant force, is reduced.

This simulation visualizes the repationships between temperature, volume and presure with a help of movable wall. Students can change number of molecules and temperature to see how volume and pressure are affected.
