Online labs provide students with the possibility to conduct scientific experiments in an online environment. Remotely-operated labs (remote labs) offer an opportunity to experiment with real equipment from remote locations. Virtual labs simulate the scientific equipment. Data sets present data from already performed lab experiments. Please use the filters on the right to find appropriate online labs for your class.

Please note that the Go-Lab Authoring Platform Graasp is no longer maintained. This means that it is not possible to create and publish new Go-Lab Inquiry Learning Spaces using the labs listed on this page. However, you can still access the labs and use them directly on the providers' websites with help of the preview links, which you will find on the dedicated lab pages. If you are interested in creating and using Inquiry Learning Spaces in your classroom, please visit the new Authoring Platform Graasp.org

If you are looking for online labs selected for the curricula of Benin, Kenya or Nigeria, please visit our Collections page.

This is a simulation of the Doppler effect. You can set both the initial position and the velocity of the source (the small blue dot).

This labs helps to demonstrate that sound needs a material medium for its propagation. Students can vary the air pressure in the jar and disciover the influence on the produced sound.

This lab can be used to investigate acoustics through visualisation. The sonograph comes with a bank of over 30 audio clips that includes everyday sounds such as speech, singing, musical instruments, birds, a baby, cat, dog, sirens, a jet, thunder, and screaming.

This simulation visualizes resonance of a sound wave. Students can change the level of the water and hear the sound.

In this lab, you can explore waves and their interference phenomenon. You can observe both constructive and destructive interference. The first two plots show the individual waves from different directions and the third shows the sum of these two waves.

This is a simulation of a standard physics demonstration to measure the speed of sound in air. A vibrating tuning fork is held above a tube - the tube has some water in it, and the level of the water in the tube can be adjusted.

In this lab, you can explore the formation of beats from two sources with different frequencies. The beat pattern is displayed as a sum of the individual waves creating the patterns. You can explore the beat pattern as you change the frequency of the second wave.

This simulation allows students to study the Doppler effect. Students have the ability to change the frequency, location, and velocity of the source, change the location and velocity of the observer and listen to the sound they created.

This simulation allows students to study the Doppler effect. Students have the ability to change the source frequency and the velocity of the listener and the source and listen to the sound they created.
