In this ILS students learn the building blocks of atoms, and where these can be found. Atomic number, mass number and electric charge and notation of an element are also part and parcel of this ILS. Students also play with the difference between an atom and an ion.

The ILS covers content taught in Form Two(Grade 10) Kenyan curriculum. It helps the learner recall the relationship between force exerted on an elastic material and the measure of extension or compression on that material

In this ILS students have to prepare a solid salt from two salt solutions. When students understand solubility and solubility rules they will be able to solve the assignment. This ILS uses the 5E components in stead of the phases often used in an ILS.
